Rev. R. Jason Elmore, Pastor
Pastor Jason Elmore was appointed to Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church in July, 2016. He was licensed for pastoral ministry by Bishop Charlene Kammerer at the 2008 Virginia Annual Conference and was appointed as the Associate Pastor of Bethia United Methodist Church in Chesterfield County. He received his Associate’s Degree from Richard Bland College, Bachelor’s in Accounting from Strayer University, and a Master’s of Divinity from the School of Theology at Virginia Union University.
He is married to his wonderful wife, Christy, and they have two daughters, Reese and Kenley. They also have three dogs, Holly, Sophie and Sam. Pastor Jason is bi-vocational and has been a firefighter for over twenty years and is currently employed by Chesterfield County Fire and EMS. He is Lieutenant and currently serves as the department’s Public Information Officer (media spokesperson) and Community Programs Coordinator. Outside of ministry and firefighting, He loves spending time with his family camping as well as just having quiet movie nights with them at home! He is also a sports fanatic, mainly football and baseball. Pastor Jason is a fan of the Tennessee Titans and the Boston Red Sox. He hopes to get to Fenway Park one day to watch the Red Sox play!
Larry Bolt - Choir Director
Larry Bolt serves the Lord as the Director of the Chancel Choir at Asbury Memorial. He has been a member since 1987 and also directs the Shirley Davis Handbell choir. He attended Virginia Wesleyan College where he received his BA in Religious Studies.
Linda Collins - Accompanist
Linda joined the Asbury Memorial staff as Organist in May 2012 and brought with her 43 years of church organist/accompanist experience (mostly in Methodist churches). Linda retired from Philip Morris USA in 2007 with 33 years of administrative experience and is currently the church secretary at Providence UMC. She has been married to her husband, Al, since 1976. They have two adult children: Jennifer who is in the US Navy currently stationed in Naples, Italy, and Jason who is employed by Walmart. Her interests include working on her computer at home, crocheting, reading, volunteering, playing the piano for several organizations, and of course, cuddling with her 2 miniature Dachshunds (Peanut and Gator).
Dana Long, Administrative Assistant
Dana joined the Asbury staff in February of 2017. She moved from Botetourt to the Chesterfield area in 2001 after marrying her husband Todd, and brings with her over 18 years of administrative experience. In 2011, Dana left the corporate world due to a strong desire to serve the Lord with her administrative gifts. She has been blessed to serve three churches for the past eight years (one being her home church) and her husband Todd is a firefighter and EMT for Chesterfield County. Dana and Todd have one wonderful son, Logan, and two furkids consisting of two dogs. Dana is a “nautical nut” and possesses an intense love and compassion for animals and children. She enjoys reading, writing, music, nature, snuggling with her furkids, and long walks with her dogs, Faith & Rogue. Dana’s favorite pastimes are studying God’s Word and spending quality time with her family.
